Pacing Schedules"A goal without a plan is just a wish" The Pacing Schedules are teacher-developed, grade level curriculum maps for English-language arts and mathematics based on the California content standards and the adopted textbook materials. The purpose of the Pacing Schedule is to ensure all students receive consistent language arts and mathematics instruction across the grade levels, ensure that the grade levels are able to administer Benchmark Assessments, and look at data in a timely manner. The Pacing Schedules and Instructional Guides are "tools", just as the textbooks and technology are tools, to effectively plan and deliver instruction. The Pacing Schedules are designed to coordinate teaching efforts resulting in district-wide in concentrated time, effort, and resources to maximize student learning * This Pacing Schedule and Instructional Guide is intended to plan for students who are receiving instruction in the core adopted programs (Open Court, Holt, envision Math, McDougal Littell). ** Students in Advanced Placement English courses at the high schools will follow the AP curriculum and are not required to use the Benchmark Assessments. Teachers of Honors courses may adjust the pace and use of the Holt materials to meet their students needs. They will be required to use the Benchmark Assessments |
